英TelegraphやGuardianなどによると、欧州の携帯事業各社が来週スペイン・バルセロナで開催される3GSMにてGoogle、Yahoo!に対抗するモバイル検索技術の開発について検討する。
参加が予定されるのはVodafone, France Telecom, Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, Hutchison Whampoa, Telecom Italia、Cingular。通話料金の低価格化による新たな収入源として、モバイル検索連動広告を狙う。
