意味：to give〈英〉
(1) dō (2) dāre (3) dedī (4) dātum
直接法・能動態・現在の活用
→(2)の形から最初にāreを取り除いてみる
・単数(singular)
1st person: dō
2nd person: dās
3rd person: dat
・複数(plural)
1st person: dāmus
2nd person: dātis
3rd person: dant
この場合の訳は現在形(simple present)でも現在進行形(present continuous)でもあり得る。
→英語の～ingみたいなものとの区別は文脈次第ということらしい
例：上の dant の訳

You(pl.) are calling the women to the island.
上の動詞vocātisの対象(object)がfēmināsなので対格。
