円筒の底面の半径と高さをそれぞれ $r,h$ とすると、 $2\pi r + h =6$ のときの $V=\pi r^2 h$ を最大にすれば良く、相加平均と相乗平均の関係の不等式により、 $6=\pi r +\pi r + h \gt 3(\pi V)^{1/3}$ から $V\leqq \dfrac{8}{\pi}$ となる。

等号は $h=2,r=\dfrac{2}{\pi}$ のときである。
