盛り上がっているWorld Baseball Classic。今日は準決勝のメキシコ戦。残念なことに、私はあいにく朝から仕事で出かけていた。
だけど、ちょうど昼前に、日比谷通りを横断しようとした瞬間だった。赤信号で目の前に止まっていた数台のそれぞれの車の中で、一斉に、ほんとうに一斉に、数人の人が手をたたき、笑顔になり、ガッツポーズをするのが目に飛び込んできた。あっ、日本が勝ったんだ！と確信した。
村上選手の逆転サヨナラ打で日本が勝利したのを知ったのは帰宅後で、リアルタイムにテレビは見れなかったけれど、こんな形で歓喜の瞬間を共有できたことは、なんだかとてもうれしい。明日の決勝戦も楽しみだ。
朝のルーティンだけは継続しているが、連日の仕事で、すでにヘロヘロ。悲しいかな、帰宅後ヨガをするエネルギーも残っていない。
Did you watch Japan-Mexico WBC semifinal?
Unfortunately I could not watch it on TV because I was outside for my job, but I became aware of the fact that Japan won at the very moment of the victory...... when it was around 11:45 in the morning, I was about to cross the street with my clients from Netherlands, in Marunouchi district, and I saw some people in their cars (who were waiting at a red traffic light in front of me) clapping, smiling, and raising their fists in triumph at the same time!
How amazing it was for me to be able to share the victory moment even if I was working! I appreciate all of the players, people in the cars letting me know the victory by their gestures, and my clients who had a big smile with me to see Japan's possible victory.
