Hello,
I'm Kayano, a Japanese blogger.
First, let me explain the purpose of this blog.
What is The Lore Enforcement?
I founded The Lore Enforcement as a base for the English ver. of my Japanese blog "世界観警察(Sekai-kan Keisatsu)."
The literal translation of "世界観警察" is "Worldview Police," but it is a Japanese slang referring to "nerds who are strict about the coherence of fictional settings." I decided to use this name as a pun to adapt this self-deprecating joke for the English version.
"世界観警察" was originally a blog I started in high school to explain game lore, but now it covers a wide range of content, including opera and ballet reviews, travel logs, and translations of historical documents.
Even though the content may change, the goal remains the same: to interpret and organize the structures within the fictional and the real world.
From the intricate settings of video games to the historical depth of 19th-century opera, I investigate anything that possesses a "world" worth diving into.
The purpose of my studies is not to be critical; it’s to ensure that the beauty of a work’s internal logic and history—its "LORE"—is fully respected and understood.
Chinese, Korean, Italian, French, and other people have come to my blog to read it, forcing themselves to use a translator, and I have received comments from them. Although it is not possible to support all languages, unfortunately, I thought it would not be a bad idea to create an English version for overseas readers.
