| 原因 |
メカニズム |

| 短絡（ショート） | 正極と負極の間で短絡が発生すると、大量の電流がながれて局所的に発熱。内部電解液が反応し発火。 |
| 過充電 | 充電のし過ぎでバッテリー内の化学反応が制御不能となり、発熱・発火。 |
| 過放電 | 過剰な放電があると、負極の集電体（銅）が溶けだしデンドライト（針状結晶）が形成される。このデンドライトが短絡を引き起こし発火。 |
| 外部からの衝撃や損傷 | 強い衝撃や物理的な損傷を受けると、内部構造が崩れ短絡が発生し、急激な発熱後揮発した電解液（有機溶剤）に着火して発火の原因となる。 |
| 製造不良 | 製造過程での不良、材料の欠陥によって短絡が発生しやすくなる。 |
