さて、今回は気まぐれに曲を選んでみました♪
前回、映画「トップガン マーヴェリック」のサウンドトラック「Hold My Hand」をご紹介・翻訳したので、前作 (1986年) である「トップガン」の主題歌もご紹介・翻訳してみようと思い、 Kenny Loggins (ケニー・ロギンス) の「Danger Zone」を翻訳いたしました♪

ケニー・ロギンスは「映画サウンドトラックの王」と敬称された、アメリカのソングライターでありギタリスト。
サウンドトラックの代表作は 1976年映画「アリー/スター誕生」の「I Believe in Love」、1984年映画「フットルース」の主題歌「Footloose」、今回の翻訳曲「Danger Zone」などがありますね！
彼はグラミー賞を2つ、エミー賞、アカデミー賞、そしてゴールデングローブ賞といった数多くの受賞歴を持っています。
「Danger Zone」は映画「トップガン」のサウンドトラックアルバムからシングルカットされ、映画公開同年 (1986年) にリリースされた曲。このヒットはこれまでのサウンドトラックアルバムの中で最もヒットしたものの一つだそうです。
任務を背負った一機の戦闘機が、真っすぐと目の前に伸びる滑走路を一気に加速する情景が浮かびます。それはまるで、危険も顧みず、命さえも賭して一途に夢へと続くハイウェイを走り向ける姿と重なります。クールに火傷してしまいそうな勢いと、ロックならではのかっこいい比喩がたまらない、トップガンの映画を引き立てる珠玉の一曲です。
