目の前に壁が現れたり、落ち込むこともありますよね。
ということで！今回は「人生ついてない日の応援歌」
Daniel Powter (ダニエル・パウター) の「Bad Day」を翻訳いたしました！
ダニエル・パウターはカナダのシンガーソングライター。
この曲は、2005年にリリースされた彼の 2ndアルバム「Daniel Powter」に収録され、ビルボードホット100で 5週連続第1位を獲得、第49回グラミー賞最優秀男性ポップボーカルパフォーマンスにノミネートされました。
その後現在に至るまで新曲を発表していますが、「Bad Day」ほどのヒットには至らなかったそうです。しかし、ビルボード誌は彼を「2000年代最高峰のワン・ヒット・ワンダー」と評価しています。
「Bad Day」をレコーディングした後も、なかなかレーベルと契約できずにいましたが、リリース前の2004年にフランスのコカ・コーラのCMに起用されたことがきっかけで、ワーナー・ブラザーズ・レコード社と契約を結んだそうです。
この曲のミュージックビデオは、ラブ・コメ映画「(500) 日目のサマー」「アメージング・スパイダーマン」の監督を務めたマーク・ウェッブ監督が手がけ、YouTubeでの再生回数は 2023年時点で 2億回以上再生されています！
