夏休みの家族との時間は、楽しくも尊いものです。
ということで、今回は「家族」がテーマとなっている曲、
Lonestar (ロンスター) の「I’m Already There」を翻訳いたしました！
ロンスターはナッシュビル出身のアメリカのバンドで、ジャンルは主にカントリーミュージックです。
1992年から結成し、脱退や復帰など、メンバーの入れ替わりを繰り返しながら、現在まで活動を続けているバンドです。
ホットカントリーソングチャートに20曲以上のシングルをランクインさせており、内9曲は1位を獲得しています。
「I’m Already There」も1位を獲得した曲の一つ。
2001年6月にリリースされた4枚目のアルバム「I’m Already There」のリードシングルとして出された曲です。
そして、「遠く離れた場所にいる家族を想う気持ち」を歌ったこの曲は、9.11や遠い場所へ出稼ぎをしていたりする家族に結び付けられているそうです。
家族とは、如何なる時も傍にいてほしい存在であり、たとえ永遠はなくとも、どんなに離れていようと、変わってゆく運命にあろうとも、変わらぬ確かなものが存在し続けることを、誰もが心の奥で静かに祈っているのです。
