今回は The Rembrandts (ザ・レンブランツ) の曲で「I'll Be There for You」を翻訳いたしました！
ザ・レンブランツはアメリカの2人組ロック・バンドです。
1990年にデビューを果たし、1997年にバンドの1人であるフィル・ソレムが脱退してからはDanny Wilde + The Rembrandts (ダニー・ワイルド＋ザ・レンブランツ) に名前を変えて活動しています。
なかでも1番有名な曲が「I'll Be There for You」でしょう！
この曲は1994年～2004年まで放送され、世界的大ヒットを果たした伝説のコメディードラマ「フレンズ」のテーマ・ソングとして書かれました。
もともとはショート・バージョンしか曲が書かれていなかったのが、このドラマのヒットに伴い、フル・バージョンでのレコーディングがされたそうです。
余談ですが、このドラマ面白いですよね！「フレンズ」はシットコムのシリーズの中で最もヒットした作品で、全エピソード数は236話 (シーズン10まで) アメリカの視聴率だけでも5,000万人以上にも昇ったとか！
ドラマに使われたショート・バージョンよりも、フル・バージョンの方がロック調が強くなっています。
