Alice Cooper (アリス・クーパー) の「Brutal Planet」を翻訳いたしました★
(2000年リリースアルバム「Brutal Planet」に収録されています)
グラム・ロック界の横綱であるアリス・クーパーは、「ショック・ロック」ともいわれる過激で創造性の高いパフォーマンスをすることで有名です。
シュールレアリズムの画家であるサルバドール・ダリも彼のパフォーマンスを愛しており、自ら志願してアリス・クーパーのショーに出演したこともあります。
他にも彼のファンは多く、オジー・オズボーンやエアロスミス、ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズ、そしてディー・スナイダー等々・・・
最近では2011年に行われたツアー「HALLOWEEN NIGHT OF FEAR」でも「Brutal Planet」が歌われました♪
彼は俳優としても活躍しており「名探偵モンク」の「悪夢のゴミ戦争」に本人役で出演、「エルム街の悪夢」シリーズの「ザ・ファイナルナイトメア」に出演しています！
戦争、虐待、精神的闇・・・目を背けたくなる現実に重点を置いて作られた本作。地球とはかつてから「野蛮な惑星」だったのでしょうか。閉じられてきた現実の蓋を開けて、人間の汚点を見せつけられるような、サウンドもテーマも重い、考えさせられる名曲です。
