弱い者いじめは許さない、反骨精神とパワフルなメタルサウンドで世界中を元気づけた弱き者たちの強き味方！
今回は Twisted Sister (ツイステッド・シスター) の名曲「We're Not Gonna Take It」を翻訳いたしました！
ツイステッド・シスターと言えば「グラム・メタル」の先駆けとなったバンドです。
バンドは1972年に結成しましたが、なかなか売れず、1976年にディー・スナイダーをヴォーカルに迎え入れたことで人気が飛躍的に上昇、それから彼はバンドにとって大きな存在となりました。バンドの全盛期であった80年代にリリースされたアルバム「Stay Hungry」は約200万枚以上を売り上げ、このアルバムからシングルカットされた「We're Not Gonna Take It」は全米21位の記録を残しました！そしてこの曲のMVはニューヨークで頻繁にテレビ放映されるほどの人気となりました。
因みにこちらのMVは、アメリカのコメディー映画「アニマルハウス」のパロディーとなっているそうです♪
世の中の理不尽や不公平を黙って耐え、たとえ「Yes」しか言えなくても、時には勇気を出して「No」と言えることも大切。なぜなら、そんな反骨精神が世の中も人も、そして自分をも変えるきっかけとなるかもしれないというメッセージを、燃える情熱で教えてくれる最高にクールな名曲です♪
