1975年に結成後、後世に渡りハード・ロックとヘヴィー・メタル界に多大なる影響を与え続けている、ハード・ロックとヘヴィー・メタルサウンドの父なるバンド。
今回はRainbowの「Stargazer」を翻訳いたしました！
Rainbowと言えば、ディープ・パープルのギタリストだったリッチー・ブラックモアが、在籍中にこっそり温めていたソロ活動を成功させるために、ディープ・パープルを脱退し、結成したことが始まりです。そしてこのバンドのサウンドは、ブルースを基盤とするハード・ロックにバロック音楽(クラシック)を融合させた特徴を持ち、80年代以降のハード・ロックとヘヴィー・メタルサウンドの基礎を作り上げたとされ、ゴシック・メタルの先駆けとなったバンドです。
バンド名は、1stアルバムでは「リッチー・ブラックモアズ・レインボー」、2ndアルバムでは「ブラックモアズ・レインボー」3rdアルバム以降からは「レインボー」と、短縮されていきました。因みに「Stargazer」は2ndアルバム「Rising」(虹を翔ける覇者)の収録曲なので「ブラックモアズ・レインボー」の時代にあたります。
信じるものがあるからこそ、人はたくさんのものを犠牲にします。しかし事実によって現実が告げられるとき、ついに人の目は開くのでしょう。
