『爆笑問題 with タイタンシネマライブ#97』に行ってきた。爆笑問題やウエストランドが所属するタイタンという会社に所属したお笑い芸人が二カ月に一度、東京でライブをしていて、それを全国各地の東宝映画館で生配信しているものである。テレビでお笑い芸人を観るのが好きで、一度お笑いライブをみてみたいと思っていたところ、近場の映画館で見られるのならちょうど良いと思って初めて足を運んでみた次第。
映画館で観た「タイタンシネマライブ」
私はよくテレビにでている井口が好きで彼のウエストランドがライブでどんなネタをやっているかが、行く前に気になっていたのだけれど、実際に足を映画館で通して観ると、ウエストランドよりも爆笑問題に強く惹かれてしまった。
月並みだけど、やっぱりタイタンは爆笑問題の事務所なんだな、と説得されてしまった感じ。二十代、三十代くらいの若い人たちも出ていたけれど、六十の爆笑問題の方が彼らよりもずっと面白いのが、なんだか怖くて気味が悪いくらい。
新作漫才の完成度に驚く
自民党の高市新総裁という数日前の時事ネタを扱った新作漫才で、当日の午後に報じられた公明党の連立離脱の件まで話の中に盛り込んでいた。
ペテランなのに、何回も繰り返し披露した定番ではなくて、今日のために書き下ろしたであろう新しいネタで、高い完成度を叩き出せるのが本当に名人芸。そういえばウエストランドの井口も、今や大御所の爆笑問題が、新しい漫才をドンドン用意するから自分がサボれなくて困る、と嘆いていたのを見たことがある。確かにあれを見させられると、サボるなんてできないよなぁ。
推し活をネタにしたウエストランド
爆笑問題のことばかり書いてしまったけれど、元々注目していたウエストランドもとてもよかった。推し活に関する漫才で、どんな推しよりも自分の方が頑張っているから、推しの頑張りを見ても、なんの感銘も受けないという井口の話は多忙な人気者の本音が入っていて面白かった。
弁護士芸人・こたけ正義感の知的な笑い
あと面白かったのは、こたけ正義感。ワタナベエンターテインメントの芸人だけどゲストとしてタイタンライブに呼ばれたようだ。弁護士という知的な仕事をしながら、法律の話をちりばめた面白い話もできる、まさに切れ者という感じで、自分が子供の頃にこうなりたいな、と憧れた大人を体現したような人である。私の方が彼よりもずっと年上なので憧れの大人という表現は変なのだけど。
たくさん勉強していっぱい難しいことを知っているのだけど、詳しくない人にもその知識のいったんを面白く披露できる人、というのに自分は憧れているのだな、とこたけ正義感を見て自己認識した。
知的に誠実なエンタメを求めて
最近は難しいことを分かりやすく語る話というと、ユーチューブに蔓延するような、陰謀論とか、インプレッション稼ぎのいい加減な話とか、が多いけれど、そういうまがいものじゃなくて、知的に誠実なエンタメがきっとあるはず。こたけ正義感は、それを目指している人の気がする。ニュースを笑いにかえる爆笑問題も、同じかもしれないな。太田のニュースに対する感性は私と結構違うので全然同意できないな、と思うことも多いけれど、意見の相違を超えて好感を持ってしまう。

Being Overwhelmed by Veterans’ Fresh Acts and Rediscovering the Value of Intellectual Entertainment
I went to “Bakushō Mondai with Titan Cinema Live #97.” This is a live performance held in Tokyo every two months by comedians from Titan, the talent agency that includes Bakushō Mondai and Westland. The show is broadcast live to Toho cinemas across Japan. I’ve always enjoyed watching comedians on TV and wanted to see a comedy performance in person, so when I found out it was being shown at a nearby theater, I decided it was the perfect opportunity.
I’ve always liked Iguchi from Westland, who often appears on TV, and I was curious to see what kind of material they would perform live. But when I actually watched the show at the theater, I found myself drawn even more strongly to Bakushō Mondai.
It may sound cliché, but I really felt convinced that Titan truly is Bakushō Mondai’s agency. There were young comedians in their 20s and 30s performing, but the 60-year-old Bakushō Mondai were far more entertaining — almost frighteningly so.
Their new sketch dealt with the topic of the LDP’s new leader, Takaichi, which had been reported a few days earlier, and even incorporated the news of Komeito’s withdrawal from the coalition, which broke that very afternoon.
Despite being veterans, they didn’t rely on a familiar routine performed countless times before; instead, they delivered a freshly written act for that very day — and with an incredible level of polish. I once saw Iguchi of Westland jokingly complain that the senior duo keeps creating new material, so he can’t afford to slack off. After seeing that performance, I could completely understand what he meant.
Though I’ve talked mostly about Bakushō Mondai, Westland was also great. Their sketch about “oshi-katsu” (fandom culture) — where Iguchi claimed that he works harder than any of his favorite idols, so he feels no inspiration from their efforts — was both sharp and funny, reflecting the honest thoughts of a busy celebrity.
Another performer I really enjoyed was Kotake Seigikan. He’s with Watanabe Entertainment but was invited as a guest to the Titan Live. A lawyer by profession, he seamlessly wove legal knowledge into his comedy, embodying the kind of intelligent and admirable adult I once aspired to be when I was a kid — though he’s actually younger than I am.
Watching him made me realize that I admire people who possess deep knowledge yet can share it with others in an engaging and accessible way. Nowadays, when people “explain difficult topics,” it often ends up as cheap clickbait or conspiracy theories on YouTube. But I believe there’s such a thing as intellectually honest entertainment — and Kotake Seigikan seems to be striving for that. In a sense, so do Bakushō Mondai. Although I often disagree with Ōta’s political take on the news, I can’t help but feel genuine respect for him beyond those differences.
