PFASの環境放出とその結果の汚染を防ぐには使用制限が優先課題である。そのような膨大で多様な化合物を扱う場合、監視計画の最適化には懸念の大きいものを同定する必要がある。ANSESは初めてフランスの全ての環境中、食品や消費者製品、バイオモニタリングなどの入手可能な汚染データを集めて解析した。この後PFAS汚染の概要を提供し、適切な監視戦略を提案する。

2023年9月から2024年9月の間に、ANSESは142のPFASについての約200万件のデータを集めて解析した。

入手可能なデータは部位や物質によって大きく異なっていた。水と食品のデータは多いが、空気やダスト、土壌データは少ない。

PFAS以外の化合物、例えばダイオキシンやPCB、PAH、重金属などは環境中に長く残り、監視が必要である。ANSESは化学汚染物質を監視する包括的アプローチの開発をよびかける
